National Urban Health Mission(NUHM)

In order to effectively address the health concerns of the urban poor population National Urban Health Mission is set up. It works for bringing sustainable improvements in the health conditions of the urban poor by influencing policies and programmes.

Roles and Functions

• To bridge the knowledge gaps with respect to health of the urban poor.
• To meet the challenges of urban health effectively by involving all stakeholders in a participatory methods.
• To work closely with the media and professional & research bodies to enhance attention to urban health.
