The environmental problems in Bhubaneswar are growing rapidly with the increasing economic development and a rapidly growing population. Industrial pollution, soil erosion, deforestation, rapid industrialization, urbanization, and land degradation are all worsening problems.
With this major concern for the environment of the city, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation seeks to find solutions to these ever accelerating problems and pledges to restore the magnificence of our planet, by kick-starting the “GO GREEN” drive.

The key to successfully implement this campaign is by creating awareness and sensitizing people to issues that are affecting the environment in and around Bhubaneswar.
"Go Green" is the resolve to “infect the whole of Bhubaneswar with the will to change towards a greener future". "Plant a Sapling" and “Take a Pledge" programmes are launched in the campaign.
