Door to door survey works jointly done with Census (Gov. of India) has been done.

Roles and Functions

13 nos of Markets are functioning under BMC. Staff are collecting the market fees from the vendors under the direct supervision of 3 Market Supervisor. The three market supervisors are Mr. Prafulla Kumar Kar, Mr. Kedarnath Rout and Mr. Santosh Kumar Purohit

Initiatives / Achievements

An amount of 66.86 Lakhs has been collected from different markets during the year 2014-15 (Upto December 2014)

An amount of 53.77 Lakhs has been collected from different markets during the year 2013-14

An amount of 52.86 lakhs has been collected from different markets during the year 2012-13

Future Agenda

• Renovation of Pourapalika Bazar at Unit–II
• Construction of Garment Market along with Fruits Market at Unit-II
• Construction of new markets
• Construction of vending zones for citizens

• Collection of License fees on Bus Shelters
• Collection of License fees on Carts & Carriages and Parking fees.
• Collection of License fees on Hoardings, Banner, Gate, Tower, Bus Shelter, Carts & Carriages and Parking fees.
• Survey of Traders.
• Collection of trade license U/S 554 (Odisha Municipal Corporation Act-2003)
