The Electrical Department provides basis service of repairing the street lights from wide spreading main roads to the corners of Bhubaneswar City. It makes assessment for new fittings of street lights where ever and whenever required for the common benefit of the BMC residents.

Roles and Functions

• Repair of Street Lights with 15 days of information
• To issue new fittings after due assesement
• To give proposal for power saving LED lighting system in BMC streets

Initiatives

• Proposal to change Present Street Light system to LED/CFL system is made in 13th Finance Commission.

Achievements

• Total No. of street light point around 35,500 and 52 No. of High Mast Lights
